Question:

Why haven't some doctors, nutritionists/dieticians, dentists, etc. embraced the fact that food either promotes health or promotes disease?

— Kathleen Campbell

Answer:

This I learned really early on, um, what actually went to my first cancer where I couldn't understand why my doctor didn't believe in holistic and integrative medicine, right? And it's not that he didn't believe in it, but it was a different language. Like he was speaking English and I was speaking Greek and he didn't know how to speak greet. And it's the same with many clinicians in our society. There is a lot happened with the food as medicine movement to increase nutrition education for clinicians they don't know. They don't know. And that's half of it. And the other half is, they are so overworked, they're not even taking care of themselves most of the time because we have not enough clinicians to support everybody that needs to see them. So they're stressed, they don't have the time. And helping people change their diet, listen to me, I've been doing this for over 30 years, takes time. It doesn't happen like that. Gaining, getting to a place where you're not eating a healthful diet didn't happen like that either. It's gonna take time and support. And right now I'm also certified in value-based medicine. We can't ask clinicians to do that. We can't ask the doctors. Um, and I don't know about dentists 'cause that's not, I've worked in hospitals my whole career. Um, mostly um, but the dieticians and nutritionists, yes they are doing that. Not all, but, but many of that's what they do. Um, they do med, they're the only ones that can do um, uh, MNT medically. Well it's a medical prescribed therapy session. Um, I didn't get that right, but it's half right. Alright.
