Question:

Food quality has become a financial challenge for low income families. How can this be changed?

— Chris Dunmall

Answer:

So it has become a financial challenge to low income families. And the food is medicine movement is one way for that to change. But it's gonna take a village, it really will. It's gonna take a farm, right? It's gonna take, it's gonna take anywhere that you can grow fresh fruits and vegetables in your environment. There was somebody in California on the sidewalk, you know, where sometimes you see trees. He planted, he planted vegetables and people that, and that was in LA and he's, he has a TED talk if you wanna look 'em up. And it's amazing and people just walked by and had some of that. But it's gonna take a whole systems approach. It's gonna take, um, fixing this health insecurity inequity and food insecurity in order to allow everybody the, their right to um, accessible healthy food. So I hope the food is medicine movement really budges that needle and moves that down the road because they are focusing on the food insecure in that.
